Area Rental Resources: Looking for additional information specific to the area. Area Rentals
Housing Authority Listing by Town: These locations provide affordable income based rental housing opportunities to qualified individuals. Click Here to see the list.
Access Community Action Agency: Access works with low-income populations to help provide resources for food security, affordable housing, and jobs. They run a few senior housing programs in the area, including Parker Place in Tolland, Willington Woods, in Willington, Elisha Brook in Franklin, and Salem Village in Brooklyn. CT Housing Search: There are a few ways to search the website
Go to “what can I afford”
Choose a County and click on “Calculate MFI then search ALL in (County)”
Answer the questions and then click “Go!” o Click on “See what’s available: $#### a month or less”
CTHousingSearch will generate a list of apartments you may qualify for. These results are likely to include apartments with subsidies available if you have lower income level.
Go to “find a place to rent” This will generate a list of all the apartments in the search area you request

The listings provided may not be a complete listing of apartments in the area, and listings may not be up-to-date. Contact the apartments directly for more information. Housing Choice Voucher Program: The Section 8 or Choice Voucher Program is run through the Town of Mansfield’s Housing Authority. Interested applicants should go to their website for more information. You can also go to http://www.cthcvp.org/ to see which lists are open and sign up for email notifications.

CT Fair Housing Center: CT Fair Housing’s mission is to ensure all people have access to housing. They can help with legal issues pertaining to discrimination and poverty, they provide education and outreach to help people understand their fair housing rights, and help with foreclosure prevention.

Windham Regional No Freeze Project: For those who are in immediate need of assistance, the No Freeze Project is a seasonal no freeze shelter November through April. They also offer a year-round hospitality center that offers access to help in getting housed as well as access to hygienic needs.

Help with Food
Foodshare: Mobile Foodshare is a food-pantry on wheels. Contact them for more information: (860) 856-4321 or click the button above. Local Pickup sites include Willington, Mansfield, and Stafford.
Food Pantry: Storrs Congregational Church, located at 2 North Eagleville Rd, Storrs, has a food pantry. By appointment only, Sunday 11-12:30, Monday 1-3, and Thursday 2":30-6:30. Call 860-429-9382. They offer meats, breads, fresh produce, and household items.
WAIM Clothing: Open Tuesday-Saturday 9am-Noon. Shoppers are limited to 15 minutes of “shopping.” By appointment only, call Neenah Shafer (860-456-7270 ext. 104.

Ashford Food Bank: Living Proof Church, 38 Pompey Hollow Road (Rte 44). Distribution is once a month on the third Friday from 7:00-9:00am.If you can't make it at this time, please call the Church office and leave a message. 860-429-2923
