Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have emergency housing? No. We have a waitlist. Please call 211 for immediate help.
Are you federally funded? No, we are partially state funded
Do you give preference when apartments are available? No. When an apartment is open it is offered to the first person on the waiting list.
Do you have handicap accessible apartments? All of our apartments are handicapped accessible. There is an elevator to reach the second floor.
When your name is added to the waitlist are you guaranteed an apartment? No. When your name is added to the waitlist it means that you are pre-qualified. Eligibility is determined when you application is being reviewed for an opening.
Can I apply before I am 62? Yes, you can apply before you are 62, the waiting list can take a couple years. However, if an apartment becomes available and you are next on the list (and not 62), you will not be offered the apartment.
What if my information changes? You are responsible for updating your contact information. We will attempt to contact you once a year to update your application but if we cannot reach you, by phone and mail, you will be removed from the waitlist. You may always re-apply when you are ready.
How do you determine my rent? Your rent can’t be more than 30% of your income. Your income x .30 = your rent. The base rent is $740, $976, or $1,082 depending on the tier of the apartment being offered (see chart Fig 1). There are other factors that can change this though, so the best way to determine if you qualify is to send in an application. While the waiting list is only open twice a year, we review applications as they come in. For more information, see the Income Inclusions and Exclusions list on Applicant page.
What if my number comes up and I’m not ready to move? We offer apartments in the order of the waitlist. If the apartment offered to you is outside your income tier, and you decline you will not lose your place on the waitlist. We are required to offer apartments in the order of the waitlist. If you do qualify for the apartment offered to you, and you decline, you will be removed from the waitlist. You may reapply at any time.
Do you allow pets? Yes. Maximum weight is 20lbs and a pet deposit is required. Please contact us for specifics.
What is my position on the waitlist? Click Here for the current waitlist, if your unsure of your control number, call us during our office hours.
